The edge of the Discworld is an ocean that falls into space, though space looks like a slightly cloudy blue sky here. The long net of the circumfence and it's posts curves away into the distance. Below the disc edge is the rimbow and beneath that we can see part of an elephant and turtle. In the centre is Rincewind, a wizzard with a long white beard and pointy, star-spangled hat, clinging in terror to the figurehead of a small sail boat that is caught on the net at the edge. Also on this boat is smiling Twoflower, who has glasses, and Death is lurking behind the sail with his scythe. Towing this boat away from the edge is a smaller rowing boat, filled by a watery, blue troll. To the left the Librarian, an orangutan in a purple wizard outfit, is on the circumfence. To the right, further away, a scantily clad man, with a scantily clad woman leaning on his back, is riding the Luggage (a wooden trunk with loads of little legs) over the water. The background has a bigger ship is on the water, and beyond that a small piece of land with various buildings and a rocket. In the blue sky above all this are the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse, War visible waving a mace above his head and holding a sword, Death is also there with his scythe (so who is hiding on Rincewind's boat? Scrofula?). Further away in the sky is a transparent disc with a group of black-robed figures sitting around the edge, and another in the centre. A ladder dangles from this.

Colour of Magic & Light Fantastic by Jack Kirby
It's the edge of the world as we know it! There is a lot going on here, mostly Colour of Magic, but with some Light Fantastic characters thrown in there, maybe wondering why they're there

No problem.
I tend to lean towards stuff where I don't have to worry about faces :)
Although at the moment I'm painting Phoenix for Marvel Crisis Protocol so need to do a decent job on that face.

You can't go too wrong with basecoat, wash and a quick highlight on the highest points. (Nose, cheeks etc)
If the eye sockets are dark then you don't need to worry about painting the eyes :)

2 white men stand in a stone cellar with a vaulted ceiling, around them are devices, sparks and eerie, cold light. On the right is a bald, old man with a bushy, white beard, holding up a diagram, his other pl held put, obviously explaining something. To the left, nearer the twisty stone staircase, is a man with short black hair and a Vulcan-ish look, holding his hand to his chin and clearly considering what he is being told. On the workbench on front of them a chemical flask produces sparks, and there are various mechanical drawings.

There is a round space, defined by Corinthian columns, beyond it the background is sky and the tops of mountains. Some columns look aged and there's a couple of Classical Greek style statues missing heads and arms. The floor is a mosaic with a pattern of leaves and pomegranates. The focal point of the space is a big round table, that is also the Discworld; its seas are deep blue and the continents and islands are sandy colour, the main feature is a big spire of a mountain that rises from the centre. Around this are 14 figures, most are looking down at the table, most are white people wearing white robes in an Ancient Greek style. Some have laurel headbands, one lady has a hoplite-style helmet pushed up on top of her head. There is one person with a lion head, though no mane, and one person with a crocodile head, both are wearing white loin wraps and blue Egyptian-style collars and head coverings. There is also an entirely blue lady who is naked except for her Egyptian collar and blue and gold head covering. The central figure, subtly bigger than the others, is a man wearing a white toga, with dark shoulder-length hair and a salt and pepper beard, he has a white band over his eyes. Blind Io (for it is he) is leaning over the world table and has just rolled 2 dice out of a skull, around where he is leaning crackle lots of little lightning bolts, which would be massive storms on the Disc. Floating all around the space are at least 17 eyeballs, looking down at the table or the other figures, with a cluster around Blind Io.
Discworld Calendar - May 2004
The Gods of Discworld by Angelo Rinaldi
This Classical scene of the Discworld Gods playing dice has a lot of great details. Obviously very inspired by Greek mythology and art, with a bit of Egyptian thrown in. Blind Io's floating eyeballs add a surreal touch.

Background colour is a warm yellow, it's ok the blank areas where the text is when it's the book cover. Right side of the image (front cover of the book) shows a group of people in a smoky cellar room. Towards the top there's 3 yellow trolls whose skin looks like armour, they are standing in a doorway at the top of a stone staircase and holding axes. With them is a white guy with a dagger and ornate outfit. Most of the way down the stairs is a guy (Twoflower) with a satchel, a coin pouch and hat, he may have four eyes or glasses, he's definitely pleased. At the bottom of the stairs a white guy with no shoes is falling, having presumably been violently barged out of the way by a huge wooden chest with a lot of little humanoid legs (the Luggage). It is approaching a trestle table where 4 men sit looking disapproving, 3 are wearing blue, 1 has a raven in his shoulder. 1 is wearing red, including a red hat, though the top of the hat can't be seen, he has a white beard, possibly this is Rincewind the Wizzard. At the far right of the picture, just visible from outside the frame is part of a scythe and the suggestion of a cowl. The light is from flaming torches and candles on a chandelier. Ravens flap high overhead. On the left side of the image a big yellow space at the top is apparently smoke from a flaming torch. The small yellow block seems to be a large parchment held by a weird, blobby, yellow creature with big bulbous eyes. Between these sections is a stone arch where various indistinct figures cluster giving a general air of grime and trouble. Must be the Broken Drum.

A dark, wet night on a bridge with everything in shades of purplish-blue. In the driving rain a large figure dressed as a nun, and a skinny figure dressed as a priest with a broad hat are leaning over the low parapet of the bridge. They look down at a full sack, which falls towards the river. Between the figures is a hippo statue, it's jaws wide, teeth beared. To the right of the bridge, beyond another hippo statue, some windows glow a pale yellow in the dark.

A close up of 2 miniature figurines on a mantle piece. On the left is a skeleton wearing a bright red, hooded cowl with a dirty white trim, he is holding some parchment and a quill, looking at it with concentration on his skull face. His black boots are on rumpled snow. On the right is a grumpy-looking, rangy, old white guy wearing a bright green festive outfit, including a pointed, green hat with a white tuft on the point. He has long white socks and bright red shoes. His hunched figure and expression are in direct contradiction to his outfit. He is standing on smooth, powdery snow. He wears fingerless gloves and holds a pork pie in one hand and maybe a very small, wooden goblet in the other. The miniatures on their bases stand on the edge of a white shelf.
Perhaps not a surprise that we have some Discworld Christmas ornaments. These are miniatures of Death-as-Hogfather and Albert playing an elf. Dave painted these and decorated the bases, with his customary attention to detail.
