Funnily enough I thought exactly the same as I walked my dog yesterday morning in our one street market town in North Buckinghamshire. There were only a couple of flags, but it certainly made me feel uncomfortable. We pride ourselves on the bohemian nature of the place, and now this rubbish.

It is your best work John. As I’ve now retired, and have plenty of time on my hands, perhaps it’s time for yet another re-read.

Bittersweet Symphony is on the wireless right now. It’s so ubiquitous that it normally washes right over you. When you actually take the time to listen you find that it’s actually a fucking great song.
