there's so much disrespect of romance writers and romance readers baked into the idea that AI-driven production of novels is 'better'. as if writing romance isn't skillful, hard and joyous work. as if romance readers aren't discerning, loyal and savvy.

Much like with Covid, I watch a whole lot of my supposedly progressive friends go blank eyed when I mention that his wife, his kids, and an entire plane crew agreed in depositions that he abused his family. Facts apparently do care about your entertainment.

To be very clear, that lady in the NYT article is not making any money with her hundreds of AI slop books.

She makes money by *convincing people* she makes money that way and getting them to pay her to teach them how to do it.

It's an evolved MLM, and the NYT is helping market it.
