I suppose that's fair but something seems a little ridiculous being 4 games above 500 and "in the hunt" for a playoff spot. Like even if we win it all, it would seem to be tarnished by a very mediocre season. It would more likely be used as evidence that the world series is meaningless.

I mean I love that he hit a HR but it doesn't look like an absolute launch. It looks like it barely went out.

Yeah and if he's been pitching through an injury as was rumored, he is probably thrilled. As I recall he is a perfectionist and holds himself to high standards.

Obviously wish his performance was better of late and that he wasn't injured last year. When he did pitch in 24 he was lights out. You still can't replace him on the open market for $15M per year. As it is, a guy with 6.6 WAR between 2 years of work, he probably gets $20-25M AAV.

He's had a bad stretch for sure. If you take the first half into account he has had a decent year.

For $15M per year, still a bargain.
