The argument against ICE isn't an especially difficult one to make politically in this moment. The issue is that people who substantively disagree with abolishing ICE prefer having a proxy fight about strategy to discussing that stance. Many such cases.

If your angle is that you want people to understand the allure of fascism, by all means, incorporate the futurist aesthetic into the editing. But put some distance between the viewer and the antagonist, enough at least to understand the meaning of cult of personality

On the ground here in Minnesota, it’s hard to reconcile the immense bonds of community that have been built in a week with the fact that we live in a country whose government appropriated billions of dollars to an unaccountable paramilitary force whose sole purpose is ethnic cleansing.

The album I first came to love in 2025 was @willstratton.bsky.social's POINTS OF ORIGIN, which as a native Californian I'd put in the pantheon of great albums about my home state.

Honestly at this point I think Bandcamp would be better served by developing a more substantial social review aspect of the site a la Letterboxd. Where else (that isn't evil) has a better vantage point for that?
