26.01.2025 16:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Mine doesn't seem to look different to a ss on the RS. Maybe my tension isn't right. I do like the thickness of the fabric.
26.01.2025 16:31 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I like the fish lips kiss heel, but I try and do new techniques as much as possible. And at the moment my brain doesn't have capacity for critical thinking at the moment!
26.01.2025 16:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That is some nice looking yarn...
20.01.2025 18:23 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thanks, that's my instinct.
20.01.2025 18:22 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I think it's such a good idea! Thanks for sharing.
20.01.2025 17:59 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0... irritating on a pattern so many people have done. But maybe I'm the only person who didn't understand!
20.01.2025 17:58 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0No, it's a textured stitch, one row purl, then one row sl1, k1. But it just says row 1: purl, so I did it back to front because I just started purling for the first half of the stitches after the marker, but you need to turn and work it on the last half. Not clear at all which is ...
20.01.2025 17:57 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Well, I may not be done with my first of this pair, but I do have one pair I need to do the afterthought heel for, and one I need to darn, so I will definitely join in to get them of my WIP/To Do lists. Thanks!
20.01.2025 17:13 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thank you so much.
That makes sense to me (after I'd done it wrong once) - even though it doesn't say turn work before starting the heel AND the garter stitch panel faces the wrong way.
I will crack on with them as I started.
Yessss ๐ฅณ๐งถ๐ Crafting is so cool ๐

Q for those who have knitted the Hermione's Everyday Socks? I'm (possibly overthinking) and very confused by the heel, I've nit done an Eye of Partridge heel before.
Do I purl on the RS or WS? ๐งถ

Gorgeous - the blue is stunning what shade is it your using?
13.01.2025 13:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A picture of a hand knitted cardigan project, made of soft lime green yarn. One needle is resting on top of the project, the other has a row of live stitches.
A picture of the inside of a red spotty fabric bag. The bag is full of a tangle of knitting needles, buttons ribbon, thread and scissors.
A picture of a set of 4 co-ordinating knitting needle storage pouches, each containing a set of knitting needles. One has double pointed needles, one has straight needles, one has cords for interchangeable needles, and one has interchangeable needle tips.
I rescued my 2.75mm circular knitting needles from my mum's needle 'storage' so I can do the collar/band on my latest #NewbornVertebrae. I hate picking up stitches, but it is satisfying when it looks nice and neat like this.
And as a comparison, photo 3 is how *I* store my needles! ๐งถ
Gorgeous colours. We're they a set or scraps, or chosen for the project?
13.01.2025 13:38 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I love both, and was think about three colour cable so it really shows the way the stitches plait.

That's how much Big Oil has spent over the last 30 years paying off Congress to look the other way on climate action while the planet burns.
Well, the planet is burning.
Don't let them look away.
Oh yes, I did wonder if it was an autocorrect. Steeking terrifies me! But knitting in the round is so much better than flat, so I can see the appeal. Do you do much colourwork?
11.01.2025 07:15 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thanks, I hope so. It does feel less stimulating than the other sites. Yes, I like to try and do a project that expands my skills, maybe a brioche hat? What is steeling?
