Watched Saving Mr Banks because I needed a little Disney magic today. The kind that comes from having endured real darkness and learning how to create light. Because we all deserve light and no one knows that more than those who have to make it for ourselves.

Just finished watching Violent Night and it hit all my tropes. A world-weary ancient who has given up hope, a battle-hardened Viking warrior who rises to defend others, a montage of fight scenes set to disproportionately cheery music and a set of Home Alone style booby traps. Loved it!

Seeing a lot of takes on the Sesame Street cancellation that forget how we got here. The show is expensive to produce, as these things go, and PBS could no longer afford its license fee. And in the streaming era, it had limited ways to pay for itself.
