That is so cathartic and satisfying. I could watch that being done for hours. And you may have solved the problem I've been trying to solve for 8 years. How to clean my polytunnel without having to use a soapy bucket and brush which then takes me an entire soggy painful day!

Anti-nature rhetoric and policies are growing and if we don't shout out now we'll never get Governments to change course. I've just emailed my MP to tell them what nature means to me and that I want it to stay protected. Will you take action too? action.rspb.org.uk/page/180990/...

But it does. Yours, ours, and millions more.
If you believe nature deserves better than this, make sure your MP hears it loud and clear:

Poll after poll shows people care deeply about wildlife and want it protected.
Instead, weβve had months of nature-blaming rhetoric and pushes to sidestep environmental law.
This flies in the face not only of what the public wants...but the Governmentβs own manifesto.
A lone Golden Plover stands alert on a low, mist-covered mound, silhouetted against a pale grey sky. Its speckled plumage blends with the muted landscape, giving a sense of vulnerability and quiet resilience: a single bird holding its ground as its world shifts around it.
Last night the Government steamrollered its Planning Bill through, slamming the door on vital protections for nature.
They said it would be a βwin-winβ for the economy and nature.
But in reality, theyβve pushed nature into last place.
I just shared a festive message in support of Turtle Doves. Nature-friendly farmers are helping these threatened birds but they need more government funding. Share your message of hope & help Turtle Doves sing again. We can't let '2 Turtle Doves' become a reality! action.rspb.org.uk/page/180932/...

βWe are clear in our report: a healthy environment is essential to building resilient towns and cities. It must not be sidelined.β www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...
And it's not over yet.
We call on Peers to reinsert this measure into the Bill when it comes back to them.
A future where nature and people thrive together is possible. We just need the Government to listen.
This is hugely disappointing.
Still, we thank the MPs who not only voted in favour, but spoke out for nature, and everyone who urged them to do so by supporting our campaign.
Without them, nature's voice would have been far quieter today.
Amendment 40 to the Planning and Infrastructure Bill has been voted down.
Had it passed, it would have meant more precious wildlife would have retained existing protections.
Instead, MPs have bought into the false 'nature vs growth' narrative.
I've just emailed my MP and asked them to vote to protect nature in the Planning and Infrastructure Bill. Will you take action too?

Canβt believe so much is still in bloom in November. On the one hand, a late Autumn day spent turning the compost and tidying the brassica cage. On the other, admiring the flowers in the warm sun!

An abandoned building by the beach where a window overlooks the sea. The water through the window resembles a painting, so someone has scrawled Free Rothko on the wall.
Good morning.

WHY is everyone so obsessed with Robins? Do White-Tailed Eagles have a favourite song? Can you teach a pigeon to defend itself?

A close, detailed portrait of a Swiftβs face. Its dark eyes and sleek feathers fill the frame, showing a rare close-up this special and vulnerable bird.
Last night, Peers voted against Swift bricks: rejecting a simple, proven way to help one of our fastest declining birds recover. β
We share @hannahbournetaylor.bsky.social's disappointment & frustration.
The vote came late, but with government refusing to back it, its fate was already sealed.

Yesterdayβs debate saw some progress for nature but thereβs a long way to go.
Big win as Peers backed Am 130: limiting Environmental Delivery Plans to where theyβll be most effective β
But Am 114 was withdrawn: losing a chance to strongly embed climate & nature in planning β

The title reads 'Pumpkin Dos & Donβts'. A light-hearted illustrated poster split into two columns with a "Do" section on the left and a "Don't" section on the right. In the "Do" section: three green checkmarks highlight turning pumpkins into bird feeders, keeping them high to avoid foraging Hedgehogs, and composting leftovers to avoid harming wildlife. The "Don't" section features three red crosses, advising against leaving pumpkins on the ground (Hedgehogs might eat them), letting pumpkins rot (it harms wildlife), and wasting pumpkins β¦encouraging instead to make tasty recipes or bird treats. A cartoon Hedgehog and pumpkin smile from the bottom of the poster, adding a fun and informative feel.
Psst! Pumpkins are a treat for birds but can be harmful to hedgehogs. π¦β
Keep them high up out of reach and compost any leftovers to protect our garden wildlife.
An orange poster with the warning βBeware! Fake Webs = Real Risks for Wildlifeβ written at the top in bold, accompanied by a small, friendly-looking spider hanging from a web. The text explains that fake web decorations can trap and harm birds, small mammals, and even toads. A cartoon owl and spider deliver the message, with the spider humorously saying, βThis is all natural!β in front of its web, and the owl encouraging people to avoid fake webbing for a spooky yet wildlife-friendly Halloween. The overall tone is playful but highlights an important caution for Halloween decorating.
Itβs spooky season, but letβs not make it scary for wildlife! ππ»
Fake web decorations can trap and injure our garden wildlife. Stick to sustainable, indoor decorations and let real spiders do the work outdoors!
