Yeah, this is why my ideal ending would’ve been a combination of elements between the two. I enjoyed Keiichi being a main focal point of Miotsukushi, as it kind of brings the entire series full circle, but it also makes the supporting cast even more of a “supporting cast”

This is exactly how I’d put it. The big thing I’d give Miotsukushi is that it does a better job of giving all of the cast time to shine, and of course I appreciate the food it gives Mion fans

You can tell the console port scenario writer was a Mion enjoyer and wanted to get her and Keiichi together. The same writer was also the main writer for Mei, and it shows (I unabashedly enjoy this)
