Interesting that the "defences" of this from the AIshills are either "it can't take your stuff" (untrue) or "it can but if there's only one instance it's probably not enough to impact the output" (potentially untrue for very specialised queries).

Please support your local public libraries, free community libraries, give a book/take a book kiosks and independent and marginalized writers and creators.

Learn as much as you can from people who are different than you.

Knowledge is a powerful antidote to fascism.

Stanford must end its complicity in COVID harms A Stanford conference of COVID contrarians and Long COVID skeptics featuring President Levin is reverberating all the way to the White House.

Economist Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, soon to be NIH Director, has suggested that preventing Long COVID is worse than getting it. Around 100 million people disabled by COVID would beg to differ — myself included.”

Establishing the President's Make America Healthy Again Commission By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered: Section 1.

This commission statement refers to people with Autism, ADHD, asthma, auto-immune disease, and chronic illness as a “dire threat to the American people and our way of life”.

This is a manifesto against disability.

This is the language of eugenics.

Apparently all the PhD researchers holding prestigious NSF-funded research fellowships are having their salaries withheld until some unspecified time when the leadership figures out how to eliminate any grant funding that doesn’t align with the president’s political ideology.

National Science Foundation freezes grant review in response to Trump executive orders The National Science Foundation has canceled all grant review panels this week. It's unclear how long the pause could last.

“researchers suspect [the grant review freeze] may be related to President Trump's targeting of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. NSF reviews grant applications based on two criteria: intellectual merit and broader impacts”

Don’t underestimate the impact you’re making when you choose to wear a mask.

You’re protecting your health & the health of your community. You’re helping ease the burden on our healthcare system.

You’re standing in solidarity with disabled people & telling the government that no one is expendable

After 15 years in the US, I'm now a citizen! Had to queue outside in the snow for 30 minutes and my husband was sat near someone who was making stinky farts during the ceremony, but it was worth it!

Yes!! The winter can be so strange but beautiful when it gets so cold. It does sound nice to have weather that won't freeze your hands so quickly though!

A silver birch tree against the beautiful blue winter sky

I'll never get used to the fact that Minnesota has beautiful sunny days where the temperature is -22c or -7.6f. How can it be both so cold and so beautiful? ❄️🥶

Alex Jones is trying to halt the sale of Infowars. Elon Musk's X just got involved in the case At an emergency hearing this week, lawyers for the social media company appeared. They haven’t explained why.

Well, this is a little mysterious.

@annamerlan.bsky.social reports that lawyers for Elon Musk's X have gotten involved (without saying why) in the Infowars bankruptcy case. And Alex Jones is claiming the cavalry is here. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

For the past 4 years almost every major “disinformation” reporter has ignored the rise of COVID denialists like Jay and others, instead choosing to boost their denialist rhetoric that the pandemic ended (it has not, according to the World Health Organization), and that COVID is harmless (it is not)
