I have been told that the Salish name for the Bitterroots means “Red Mountains”. True or not, it’s an apt name.

I am sure that this is true for them. It’s just an insane level of distrust and not rooted in reality.

Ive lived in a rural area for 30 years. Twice I’ve been visited by people who were openly carrying, as if this is normal and okay. People have also yelled “Don’t shoot!” as they get out of their cars to come to my house. Do people just expect to have gunfights in their front yards or something??
