100% this. It would make for a more interesting and engaging secondary silibus as well as give grounding to students.

Imperial history is fascinating and enjoyable to learn about, with loads of opportunities for comparative, source and depth study on every facit of history.

These stories always make me feel so dejected, because ultimately its a story about western apathy and ineffectiveness.

There's billions of dollars being spent trying to hold back decarbonisation and promote science denialism. Whole political movements now make this a central offering.

There's a tiny group of us on the left arguing for broad tax reform to fund big spending increases.

The majority either say "tax wealth" or borrow/MMT. Neither of which are viable long term funding solutions.

My only problem is that at a time when the Russians are spending billions, we quibble over millions.

Tax reform and procurement reform can go hand in hand to maximise investment and reward.

If we want high skill industrial jobs, the left has got to get over its aversion to defence.

That means investment in steel, in power, in digital skills and infrastructure.

There's a massive gain to be made for a left wing defense industrial strategy; leveraging traditional patriotism and Left wing economics.

Another massive win for the government in the defense sector.

Industrial success story and one we should be making more of.

Ive argued previously for a bigger spend on defence and I stand by it. The demand is there, if we build the capacity today to meet our own and allied needs into the 2030's.

Pretty sure this Labour government was meant to be about protecting and restoring national institutions.
