At this point, it seems obvious that Trump's FCC is just going to block the Paramount-Skydance merger anyway because they're still too "woke" or whatever and CBS soiled themselves for nothing.

CBS is ending the entire Late Show concept, not just Colbert's stint. Add the recent cancelation of Taylor Tomlinson's show and CBS is completely out of late night. That's a monumental move in TV history. CBS didn't make it overnight because Colbert jabbed at his bosses in the opening monologue.

Imagine spending months working on this only for it to be totally ignored because it published on Coldplay cheaters day.

Trump had no chance of prevailing in court. None. Yet he's already gotten two of America's broadcast networks to bend the knee to protect their business interests. There's no scenario where this ends well for the free press.

I must've stopped at a dozen gas stations, grocery stores and pharmacies looking for a newspaper to commemorate the Thunder championship. Not a single one had a paper rack. I get why they've disappeared. But it's still sad. A lost community ritual.

The Tucker Carlson-Ted Cruz interview is actually a defense of partisan news. Friendly outlets are the only ones that get a shot at that interview. And the only ones whose tough questions are genuinely wrestled with, instead of the interviewee throwing "fake news" smoke bombs.
