Excellent thread! I get frustrated with "everything is QAnon" for the same reason. Many have interacted with Q influencers and have no idea of Q lore. The major ideas have been mainstreamed, but as you say, they were common beliefs before Q came along. He/they just gamified it.

That's true, but that's what they're betting on people believing. Astroturfer Glenn Inwood excels at hiding behind more reasonable-sounding rhetoric to broaden appeal. BUT BW was behind the anti-trans Inflection Point NZ event, just not under that name. And there is more going on... it ain't over.

That's if that's where he heard it at all! Glenn Inwood and Better Wellington were the originators of other false information about Whanau. And they live in the area.

The leadership team of Better Wellington are well connected. Inwood has a direct dial line to Winston Peters, Shane Jones, +++. I would put less emphasis on the Chows and more on the people who have the contacts to make this happen. Inwood is a class A manipulator. Who knows what the brothers know.

They see everyday opinions and actions as a conspiracy against their beliefs and tilt at windmills, aiming their followers' vitriol at people trying their best.

Councillors face an unprecedented number of hateful attacks. And it's groups like Better Wellington leading that charge.

There will be a lot of reporting on the bad, sad, mad candidates like last election. That can scare people into not voting, as they are scared they'll make the wrong choice.
