How long would it take to summarize all the progress you've made in 10 years? On March 11-12, @dorlaor.bsky.social will look back on the lessons learned from a decade of development at #ScyllaDB, as well as the launch of Scylla X Cloud and our team's focus in 2025. www.scylladb.com/monster-scal...

I have got p99 swag pack and I finally assembled my home scyllaDB cluster. Thanks @scylladb.com !

I would have expanded, why there is 280 char limit..

Since ScyllaDB is compatible with C* and DynamoDB, there is always an exit to them, with pain but a path exit

The concept of 'credible exit' to OSS is good in theory but in practice is problematic:
- Huge project: it invites plenty of forks, will force the vendor to change the license to prevent forks
- Narrow project: like high-end DB, differentiation is a must, and then the exit becomes too painful

ScyllaDB: How To Analyse Cluster Capacity? Using these recommendations you can reduce your server cost without any latency degradation.

I wrote a new blog post about analysing #ScyllaDB cluster capacity. ScyllaDB is a highly performant database that supports gradual degradation under load. The post might help in understanding its true capacity and reducing server costs to some extent. open.substack.com/pub/andectio...

ScyllaDB 2024.2 Introduces New Efficiency & Elasticity via β€œTablets” - ScyllaDB Scaling operations with Tablets are up to 30X faster while reducing network costs by up to 50%

The tablets feature
of ScyllaDB is very impressive. It simplifies maintenance and looks like a solid foundation for possible autoscaling www.scylladb.com/2024/12/03/e...

Please create a github issue, it will be more effective to analyze the issue there. You have a ton of tombstones and an older release. Sometimes a quicker response can be achieved on slack too

GitHub - scylladb/scylladb: NoSQL data store using the seastar framework, compatible with Apache Cassandra NoSQL data store using the seastar framework, compatible with Apache Cassandra - scylladb/scylladb

@scylladb.bsky.social has joined the party!

When we needed a horizontally scalable data store for Bluesky's v2 AppView implementation, I spent a ton of time testing and evaluating every option and ScyllaDB was the clear winner. The people there have been very nice too!

Building Bluesky: a Distributed Social Network (Real-World Engineering Challenges) Bluesky is built by around 10 engineers, and has amassed 5 million users since publicly launching in February this year. A deep dive into novel design decisions, moving off AWS, and more.

@jacob.gold cheers for your architecture post: newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/bluesky

One option to consider is to keep sqlite data as a 1-2 MB blob (per dataset) in ScyllaDB, this way you can enjoy from free replication and the other properties of Scylla. Others have done it too
