My favorite groupings are the pentagonal, star, and petal types!

First-Year Geology Student is usually what I call the newbies. In the Intro classes I try to tell them that they don’t need to lick ALL OF THE SAMPLES. But in upper classes it is useful

🪶 Another photo of my goose friend from a couple days ago. I believe he (or she) is a Chinese Goose or a Swan Goose. I’m not sure why the pair hangs out at the local park with the other ducks and Canadian geese. They aren’t native, I wonder if they used to be pets?
