that's me. It is a good excuse for the shop to unload some local product that has been sitting there for years because they took on as a favor to a buddy. We don't know any better, and that guy gets a sale. Win-win.

That is very cool. When I travel, I try to get foreign language comics. I prefer local comics but in a pinch big two in the local language work fine. I wish my local shop had some Swedish language marvel comics to sell me. I mean I am barely getting by in English but fun to look at other versions.

It is a great cover, although the link you have is to a different cover. Still nice but for me it was the Villalobos cover that sold it.

Good point. I think those reprint facsimile editions would be good there as many of them are more stand alone.

Surprised how many places were not open by noon down there. That said, this fried chicken joint had a line down the block. The internet tells me it was it's grand opening, Chimmelier. Hope it is great but I wasn't waiting.

I don't get down there very often. Drove back via Hollywood and Highland and all that. Very busy on a Saturday. It is good to me step outside my door but hard to do.

That area has changed a bit. Parked once and was able to hit the exhibit, Golden Apple Comics, Mega City One Comics and grab an affogato. Not been to Mega City since it had a different name. Not sure what is in the old Meltdown space now. That area has some turnover.

They have posted plaques about the history. Lots of original comic art pages, outfits, video about the band. Not all ages friendly. Timmy the interdimensional portal potty was the last tour I saw them on. I know people dont like that album but I liked it when they used more humor.

Beyond the Streets Gallery on LaBrea in Hollywood has a free Gwar exhibit running through the end of the month. I was impressed with how much they had. You can buy the items or hit the gift shop.

#NYCC is livestreaming the Main Stage and the Empire Stage on YouTube (2 separate feeds). ReedPop is hosting one and Nerdist is doing the other one (at least for today). Glad ReedPop allows this and hope other cons follow suit.

I feel like it doesn't work for a lot of things. They colorized Carnival of Souls and it just felt off. How do they know what color to make various background things like signs and cars?

Maybe they should try "My Breakfast with Blassie" as he actually shows up.

Do they still colorize old movies? What a strange thing to do. I run across them from time to time and wonder who it was for?
