07.08.2025 19:38 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Happy pub day to @peteramescarlin.bsky.social and βTonight in Jungleland,β the story of someone putting in the work because it mattered more than anything in the world. Itβs inspiring, sharply written, fantastically reported.

And now it's here! TONIGHT IN JUNGLELAND, the Making of 'Born to Run' is published today by @doubledaybooks.bsky.social. Here are just a few of the early reviews. Tour dates start TONIGHT in Seattle. @brucespringsteen.net
05.08.2025 12:29 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Jamie, itβs time for bed. Tomorrowβs a school day.
30.07.2025 04:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0They love to invent richly illustrated phony stories about bruce. There were two that showed up a month or so ago which featured phony photos of B cradling sobbing people to his chest. One was his daughter, supposedly upset about Pattiβs illness, the other was Bob Dylan who was just sad, I guess?
28.07.2025 03:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Gay friends! Especially you guys: looking for a romantic, orientation-specific love song for your wedding or just for date night? Here's Bob Dylan's performance of "She's Funny That Way," revised to "He's Funny That Way." It's lovely! (and so are you!) open.spotify.com/track/2o8d8E...
22.07.2025 02:12 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Two weeks til TONIGHT IN JUNGLELAND. Pre-order now and you'll get yours on pub day! (I'm pretty sure) @brucespringsteen.net @doubledaybooks.bsky.social
21.07.2025 14:56 β π 10 π 6 π¬ 0 π 0Did you JUST have Covid? I hope it wasn't too bad. I had another run through the Covid spin cycle in May, but it was a shadow of the version that knocked me for a loop in the fall of '23.
19.07.2025 00:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You saw Mikeβs BBs and got Covid out of the deal? The jokes write themselves. (Tho Mike would sue to claim co-authorship)
18.07.2025 22:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0TONIGHT IN JUNGLELAND rolls into town in 2.5 weeks and the critics have already spoken! (Some of them, anyway) @brucespringsteen.net @doubledaybooks.bsky.social
18.07.2025 20:22 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am vibrating with glee.
17.07.2025 22:13 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Bless you. ππ₯β€οΈ
17.07.2025 05:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Interested in @brucespringsteen.net and BORN TO RUN? My new book TONIGHT IN JUNGLELAND is coming Aug 5 and the book tour starts that same day! Here are dates on the west and east coasts!
15.07.2025 15:13 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Iβll never forget it. Leno was trying to run one of those dumb five questions bits and when he asked Kimmel if heβd ever bought anything thru a tv ad he said, βHave you ever ordered anything off tv?β And Kimmel fired back: βLike you ordered Conan off tv?β Lenoβs face went slack. It was fantastic.
06.07.2025 18:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How can a person be both a socialist and an anarchist? Isn't that like calling someone an uptight libertine?
05.07.2025 20:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ah. Okay. Thanks for the clarification!
05.07.2025 01:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0National health tho. And also those classy accents.
04.07.2025 23:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes, resisting a cruel and stupid govt policy requires a multi-pronged approach. It meets resistance at every step. You fight on every front and pitch in however and whenever you can.
30.06.2025 05:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs also keeping an important issue in the spotlight when a significant percentage of electeds and others either canβt or wonβt pay attention. If itβs an election season all the better: the media has to pay attention. Heβs doing his job as a candidate and voice for progressive change.
30.06.2025 05:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So speaking out, or taking any action that doesnβt get an instant result is worthless? So the civil rights advocates were bullshit artists? Did the Voting Rights Act happen spontaneously? Didnβt the years of protests (aka virtue signaling, to you) have something to do with it?
29.06.2025 21:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Advocating for people is not virtue signaling. Itβs advocating for people. Erecting a sign in your yard about it, while not taking action, is virtue signaling. See also: In this house we believeβ¦etc etc.
29.06.2025 21:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Well what if someone is offering to fly them to Turkey for free, repeatedly. Adams is a New Yorker who seems to be in favor of that kind of handout.
27.06.2025 23:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Trump said heβd lower prices throughout the campaign. Then took it back within days of winning the election. Literally said, Thereβs not much I can do about that. Unsurprisingly, the media that gave so much attention to his promises didnβt notice him saying he had no intention of fulfilling them.
26.06.2025 03:43 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What's that song on "Off the Ground" where the chorus goes "...I feel love for you tonight!" which is more like what an AI program would spit out to illustrate a moment of intense passion than what an actual human would say. So give Paul credit, he was 30 years ahead of the AI game.
20.06.2025 16:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0FITD became a committee project when he lost faith in the Elvis Costello collab...so much of which was so terrific it continues to boggle the mind. I suspect Paul felt he'd be damned if an EC project was successful (he needs another John!) and also if it wasn't (even a new John couldn't save him).
20.06.2025 16:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I know it's mean to tell people not to love the things they love. But my training as a critic (arrogance) compels me to share the truths that rattle out of my brain. So. "Only Love Remains" is intolerable. As was its predecessor, "Through Our Love," and its eventual successor, "Motor of Love."
19.06.2025 21:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0At great length. That's for sure.
19.06.2025 20:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0...I mean, honestly. "Move Over, Busker"? I keep wanting to fall for "Stranglehold," but it's like a hollow Easter bunny. I take a big bite and it's full of nothing. Your mileage may vary. But to my ears, he's building huge sonic structures to hide the fact he has nothing substantive inside.
19.06.2025 20:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ehhh I tried to love "Press to Play" like I love so much of Paul's work but to my ears those cool sonic textures are largely in the service of songs that don't rise to his standard. And the one song I do love, "Feel the Sun," is a fragment he stapled to the way-less-interesting "Good Times Coming."
