I wrote on his record, “To Don: thanks for all the great songs. Brian Wilson,” Don was so grateful. It was almost like he couldn’t talk. He turned to leave. “Hey Don,” I said. “Wait a second.” I took the record back, crossed out “great,” and wrote “good.” Some people would have been mad, but Don just looked at it and laughed.
My favourite bit of Brian Wilson's memoir I Am Brian Wilson is when he talks about Don Henley of The Eagles waiting backstage for Brian, hoping he would sign his copy of Pet Sounds...

29.05.2025 13:03 — 👍 1 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0An important life skill to develop is the ability to not have an opinion on a thing.
This is because there are many things which it is not necessary for you to have an opinion on.
A related skill is recognizing that the list of things on which an opinion is required is different for everyone.
Perfect joke, just perfect.

10.04.2025 19:59 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Kurt Vonnegut tells his wife he's going out to buy an envelope: "Oh, she says, well, you're not a poor man. You know, why don't you go online and buy a hundred envelopes and put them in the closet? And so I pretend not to hear her. And go out to get an envelope because I'm going to have a hell of a good time in the process of buying one envelope. I meet a lot of people. And see some great looking babies. And a fire engine goes by. And I give them the thumbs up. And I'll ask a woman what kind of dog that is. And, and I don't know. The moral of the story is — we're here on Earth to fart around And, of course, the computers will do us out of that. And what the computer people don't realize, or they don't care, is we're dancing animals. You know, we love to move around. And it's like we're not supposed to dance at all anymore."
