Inside the ancient walls of a cylindrical building in Rome, Italy, in the courtyard areas on what looks to be a sunny day as seen over the turrets where the tops of trees and some buildings of Rome can also be seen. It appears that the building has about four levels from this scene, but the building was at one point the tallest in Rome. The structure was initially commissioned by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself and his family. The popes later used the building as a fortress and castle, and it is now a museum. It was also once used as a prison. The image shows how intact the interior grounds still are, containing buildings and ground comprised of light coloured stone and brick. It is a busy scene, showing a medley of windows, doors, turrets, arches, statues, directional staircases, tiled roofs and passageways. There are three tourists standing looking down at another section of the interior from just below the turrets.
