I've always thought that I peaked in 2023 with these two
illustrations; they're only three days apart. For me, they were a turning point because, aside from helping me improve a lot, I haven't been able to create anything similar that I like as much as these 🫶

I'm immediately drawn by how relaxed they are.

Came on its own

A brave mole knight is standing on a molehill, sword and shield in hand. He is framed by a gothic stone frame and in the back, you can see a landscape reminiscent of the renaissance portraits. Underneath, on a piece of paper it says, "There is a brave knight within you", with a painting of a small sword below.

Biddle the Bright. Son of Oakleaf. A knight gnome with a shield and a makeshift sword in hand. His helmet is an old piece of bell with a spoon attached for added nose protection. It's also adorned with all kinds of trinkets.

A black and white screen printed poster of Frankenstein (1931). The Monster carries the lifeless body of Maria, a little girl he befriends and tosses daisies into a river with her. He accidentally kills her by throwing her into the water where she drowns. Now he walks with her body in his hands through the forest at the riverside, as her body slowly disintegrates into daisies. All of the poster's text is in Traditional Chinese.

The artwork is made up of many different petroglyph-inspired animal figures. The animals are all moving to the left. In the foreground you see three wolves and four ravens chasing after two bull elk and one doe in fairly dark lines. In the background are similar style elk that use smaller artwork and lighter lines to represent being further away. All the foreground animals have gold foil circles into their design around their heart's location and airway location. The entire piece has been given a distressed treatment.

This is probably the largest art I've made in a long time; it's 16x48 inches at 300dpi. All of the animals are inspired by petroglyphs and cave art from around the world on top of the shapes found within the animals themselves. #art #caveart #petroglyph #deer #wolves #ravens #raven #wolf #elk
