Dammit, second bag... The other books I picked up last week. The Peter Cushing Scrapbook is from the excellent little Whitstable museum, which has a heap of well-curated Cushing ephemera.

Very restrained book acquisitions while down in Kent. Some pleasing rarities though - the last of the G1 Transformers annuals, decent Enid Blyton magazine, and it looks like I am now collecting the pulp magazine instances of John Wyndham stories (goddamn it). I'll post some interiors later on.

I confess I was drawn in by it...

S.N.U.F.F. by Victor Pelevin. This was such a strange book. A rich dystopia of oppression and manipulation of facts and reality. Super-weird, quite hard work while having a fairly light tone. I'm still not sure what to make of it!

He's done a beautiful job!

I'm pleasantly surprised to find that my favourite films of the year are either horror movies or lesbian capers. LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL, THE SUBSTANCE and THE HERETIC, with LOVE LIES BLEEDING and DRIVE-AWAY DOLLS. Plus, THE WILD ROBOT, which is also lovely. All excellent.

It was only when I finally worked 100% from home during lockdown that I realised how insanely stressful and deleterious working in an office had been.

Lovely things I vaguely sort of inherited/thieved. I'd rather like a full set, but I like the two transfers that are left.

Thanks for joining us last night at the Museum of Making to talk about LEGO, creativity, and building with bricks. I brought way too much stuff to show folks! Lovely to meet everyone and see people having fun with LEGO. Hopefully we'll get to do this again!

Lovely book acquisition today (from Headway charity shop, Beeston): The Color of War, Spanish Civil War 1936-39. Gorgeous artwork throughout, though it had me at the stamp-filled endpapers anyway.
