Dammit, second bag... The other books I picked up last week. The Peter Cushing Scrapbook is from the excellent little Whitstable museum, which has a heap of well-curated Cushing ephemera.

10.08.2025 16:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Very restrained book acquisitions while down in Kent. Some pleasing rarities though - the last of the G1 Transformers annuals, decent Enid Blyton magazine, and it looks like I am now collecting the pulp magazine instances of John Wyndham stories (goddamn it). I'll post some interiors later on.

That is a lovely feeling. Over here it's definitely some guy in shorts with a vape. (but they do still deliver wonders)

20.11.2024 20:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I confess I was drawn in by it...

S.N.U.F.F. by Victor Pelevin. This was such a strange book. A rich dystopia of oppression and manipulation of facts and reality. Super-weird, quite hard work while having a fairly light tone. I'm still not sure what to make of it!

15.11.2024 20:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm pleasantly surprised to find that my favourite films of the year are either horror movies or lesbian capers. LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL, THE SUBSTANCE and THE HERETIC, with LOVE LIES BLEEDING and DRIVE-AWAY DOLLS. Plus, THE WILD ROBOT, which is also lovely. All excellent.

I'd love to work on a pop-up book! Ideally with the marvels produced by Matthew Reinhart. Ah, the future...
Those little pop up books are great! Do you have the others?

Wow, this is filling up well! Just a few places left for my LEGO workshop and Q&A at Derby's Museum of Making, Fri 5 April. We're going to talk about why @lego is brilliant and creativity. And then we're going to build some stuff you can take home!

Lovely book acquisition today (from Headway charity shop, Beeston): The Color of War, Spanish Civil War 1936-39. Gorgeous artwork throughout, though it had me at the stamp-filled endpapers anyway.
