FBI Director Kash Patel

@FBIDirectorKash
Just NOW, the FBI arrested Judge Hannah Dugan out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on charges of obstruction β€” after evidence of Judge Dugan obstructing an immigration arrest operation last week.

We believe Judge Dugan intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse, Eduardo Flores Ruiz, allowing the subject β€” an illegal alien β€” to evade arrest.

Thankfully our agents chased down the perp on foot and he’s been in custody since, but the Judge’s obstruction created increased danger to the public.

We will have more to share soon. Excellent work

It's the best/most recent non-internal poll we have. It's all we have to go on!

I know I've heard a lot of people who really wanted to know how those candidates poll head to head vs Republicans to help guide their decision, but to my knowledge there are no polls of that out, either.

My heart breaks reading these accounts of the important research contracts that have been cancelled by the Trump administration (including research from CCRC <3 ).

These don't dominate headlines, but not having reputable research results will harm Americans and waste taxpayer $in the long run.

DACA Updates: Trump Seeks to Strip Dreamers of ACA Eligibility; Fifth Circuit Ruling Goes Into Effect Two recent developments related to the DACA program stand to affect thousands of young immigrants who call the US their home.

Trump claimed during the 2024 election that β€œwe have to do something about the Dreamers.”

Oh, he’s doing something alright: continuing to attack them. He’s recently moved to strip them of their ACA coverage.

Cutting research funding would make education less effective and efficient Presidents of education research associations explain the impacts of recent funding cuts to the Institute of Education Sciences (IES).

πŸ’― This op-ed by ed research leaders made that essential point quite forcefully:

"Abruptly ending near-complete projects does not drive efficiency. Instead, it ensures that the public sees no benefit from the investments already made, converting what was productive spending into waste."

08.03.2025 19:57 β€” πŸ‘ 79    πŸ” 30    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 1

β€œDIGITAL BOOK BURNING”: This phrase captures the import of what is going on across numerous agencies. Yes, there are real, specific consequences of degraded or manipulated data in each case- but even those costly losses pale alongside the big picture consequence: rapid descent into authoritarianism.

If Linda McMahon and the Department of Education believe in "efficiency and accountability" (after laying off half of the department), then I'm sure they'll gladly publish a list of every position that has been eliminated and why that position is no longer needed.

Also, I'm not a lawyer, but I highly doubt that a memo like this is sufficient to actually declare any of these things illegal. And it seems ripe for a challenge in the courts. But there's always the risk that schools will preemptively comply.

Don’t know if anyone else read the letter and caught that it contradicts the majority opinion in SFFA, which allows discussion of racial identities in essays to be used as a factor in admissions.

They’re trying to rewrite an already very conservative SCOTUS opinion

Easy, DOGE. IES matters. The federal role in education dates to 1867 when President Andrew Johnson signed legislation creating the first β€œDepartment of Education” for the purpose of:

"... slashing and burning won’t improve matters. It’s just going to weaken the foremost truth squad in American education, the chief sponsor and funder of rigorous analysis, reliable data, and clear-eyed evaluations in a realm that needs more of those things, not less."

Understanding β€œwhat works” in education is HARD and is what many of us have dedicated our professional lives to figuring out.

Having some wanna-be tech bros come in and decide they know better than researchers & experts is beyond infuriating and insulting to the ed research community.
