Does Anyone Answer New York's Unemployment Hotline? One week in June, only a third of the people who called the Labor Department's unemployment help line reached a real person.

Kyra is one of dozens of constituents my office has helped to get UI benefits this year. The single most common reason people call is that they qualified for UI but can't get through to a human at @nyslabor.bsky.social. Something has to change! @juliarock.bsky.social

1/ At immigration court today, I watched the judge grant a young boy two years to finish his application. ICE agents grabbed him from his mother, put him in a freight elevator, and disappeared him.

Trump just signed a new travel ban barring citizens of 12 countries, including Haiti, from entering the US. This is a disgusting and discriminatory action that does nothing to make our country safer or more affordable.
