It’s a small thing but my family has used Google calendar and Gmail for years to coordinate our busy lives and Chrome as our browser. We have now moved almost fully out of the Google ecosystem. I’m trying to make better choices as a consumer … even if it’s often picking the lesser of two evils.

Town halls clearly aren't a priority. Kay Granger was my Rep before the re-districting in 2021, and she publicly stated in 2017 that she didn't feel it was "safe" to have a town hall. The only way to see her in person was to be a high $$$ donor at a fundraiser.

The Department of Health services said “school-aged” so between 5 and 17 but I’m sure more details will come out later. I think it’s a good way of showing that it was a child who was old enough to have received both MMR doses had their parents chosen to vaccinate. So sad and preventable 😢

A school aged child who was unvaccinated died in Texas. This is the first US measles death since 2015 (an older immunocompromised woman), before that it was 2003. Measles kills thousands of children worldwide each year - vaccines save lives!!!

Every one of these federal employee firings represent a real human with bills to pay, perhaps a family to support & they lose not only a job but health insurance & retirement benefits. We should care more about these folks regardless who we or they voted for.

Joy Reid’s show was one of the few I still regularly listened to on MSNBC. I dropped Morning Joe & others after it was clear that appeasing Trump was more important than speaking truth to power. So disappointed!

I stated my career as a civil servant and worked hand in hand with smart and dedicated federal workers from the USEPA and CDC. Most federal employees are hard working & devoted to serving the public despite knowing they could often make more money on the private sector.

My teen just called to tell me that his favorite math teacher might be teaching calc based physics next year. It makes me smile that these are the things that really excite my kid! (For the record, the love of math comes from his paternal side 😉)
