Interesting, but even in good order, it isnโ€™t exactly a โ€œmass appealโ€ pieceโ€ฆ.. good luck to them though.
Hungerford antique shops are the best.

Pitty them Johnny.
Some belittle, some celebrate.
Rise above the sneering bitter brigade!
We have a full day of Curling, Snow Boarding and Ice Hockey to look forward to tomorrow. Iโ€™m a bit hazy on the rules of all three tbh, but we wonโ€™t let ignorance get in the way of a good time.

Nothing worse than a wine that tries too hard โ˜น๏ธ.
Spotted the post earlier and was wondering if Iโ€™d missed something! All makes sense now (other than the wine).

Iโ€™m in Bristol from time to time for work will give The Old Duke a try.
Love a good pub!

In Barolo terms, it is entry level.
Needs a bit of time then it is an enjoyable drop.
Concentration and complexity comes at a much higher price.
Always open to a better value recommendation though.

By way of an update. After a couple of hours open, this was seriously good wine. Plenty going on. Concentrated, but not too overpowering.
Have got a case incoming along with 6 of its big brother and 6 of their regular Nebbiolo (both untasted๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž). These should provide good drinking for a few years.

A splendid read!
Wish there was a half way house between Freeloader and Locked In Subscriber.
Iโ€™d happily stump up the price of a pint after enjoying an article, but am far less willing to leave my card behind the bar in perpetuity.

First visit to a Vagabond since Majestic jumped in. Monday night in Birmingham and busy. 100 wines on self service. Tapasy food not dreadful.
The rent on this place must be crippling, but hope that they are here to stay.
Off to the Shakespeare now for a proper pint!

Some very canny shopping there!
My local Co-op sells the CVNE Res 2019 for about ยฃ23. Absolute bargain.
Have never tried the M&S sherry, but will certainly give them a go at those prices.

Yes. Any thoughts on rough prices?
Cracking branding.
Might even grow a beard!
The dog will also be pleased.
Good luck.

Result! Thank you Waitrose. 1/3 off!
The Barolo is a bit of a shot in the dark, but the other two are solid performers.
Demonstrating admirable restraint, only five bottles were purchased.
Thus atoning for last nightโ€™s guilty 3am Brunello shoppingโ€ฆโ€ฆ

Agreed. I made a conscious effort to explore the No alcohol section of the Wine Fair. Some tidy non-grape based efforts.
Apparently, oxidisation is a big issue. You get a glass or two that tastes as the maker intended; then a collapse into limp dull yuckiness. Lovely people, but Iโ€™m not a fan.

Brunello and festive mince pies.

Agreed. Palo Cortado is a splendid tipple. I generally have a bottle of Pedroโ€™s on the go (also from Waitrose).
Full, fresh and a bit unruly!
Any other PC recommendations greatly appreciated.

My initial thought was - but those are only half measuresโ€ฆ..
On being diagnosed as diabetic in the 80โ€™s, my long dead uncle (french) was told by his doctor โ€œno more than 3 or 4 glasses of wine per dayโ€.
He was distraught!๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿท๐Ÿท

It isnโ€™t just Google/AI.
I wittnessed a tasting where the โ€œexpertโ€ tabled this as the first wine.
Nothing wrong with the wine, but not a patch on itโ€™s big brother.
When this was pointed out afterwards. His response was โ€œI canโ€™t afford the first wine. This is close enoughโ€.
Zero credibility.

Earlier today, I was at a cracking walk around, but was moving along next to a gentleman who had forgotten to shower.
I may may have been overly harsh on three or four wines before I realised that it wasnโ€™t the wineโ€ฆ.. the notes will be entertaining when I get to them tomorrow.

Will give them a try.
TBH, I was a little traumatised at seeing what I had considered to be the cheaper end of quality at such a sum.
Fvb, here we come!

Am in the Metropolis after a couple of glasses of wine and find myself on Jermyn Street. I used to buy all of my work clobber here.
WTF! Prices! I used to buy Loakeโ€™s because cheaper than Churchโ€™s. Now ยฃ600 a for standard Oxfords!
If were to spend ยฃ600 on shoesโ€ฆ

It could have been worse.
I had promised โ€œno more Claretโ€.
Failed ๐Ÿ˜ž . Cellar is way too French.
But, lovely wine at a very tidy price. What is a chap to do?
Thanks to @Tom.Mann

Thanks guys. Iโ€™m prepping family dinner. Have just opened random bottle of wine to help the sauce along โ€ฆ
Letโ€™s just say that the images conjured up are not aligned with enjoying a chilled glass of vino and a chilled cook!
Please tell me that this behaviour is confined to ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท or Northern ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น ?

Iโ€™m doing my lone dinner/pint over Decanter magazine. Always a great read. However, the ball has been dropped.
The excellent article on up & coming NZ wine makers, opened with a 1/2 page pic of Donald & dog (MokoHills). 7 pages and we didnโ€™t even learn the name of the dog! Wine looks great though ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
