And I realize I didn't hire follow through with my thought two posts up. I collect recipes and am buying the tools that will make cooking, and freezing, meals easier. I also give regularly to a local food bank because no one should grow up food insecure.

it helps me to not feel food insecure. But the rising prices for food makes me angry because it doesn't need to be this way. There shouldn't be food insecurity for anyone, regardless of diet restrictions. Healthy food should be considered a basic right, along with housing and healthcare.

I grew up food insecure. When we were first married we didn't have much money so I made all our food all the time. We would freeze leftovers and eat those.

We are very lucky the freezer we splurged on 30 years ago still works and we can afford to buy from Costco because it saves money. I also learned if I can plan better, frozen food via Thrive Market is less expensive than via the stores we shop.

In the end, the South is American. Southern history is intrinsic to US history. Pretending otherwise serves white supremacy, because it regulates all the culture here as secondary to whatever "Real America" is. Usually wherever the speaker is located or prefers.

Our dvd player doesn't work, and we could replace it but I'm the only one who watched dvds anymore so we've been putting it off. Streaming works everywhere in this house. Lol
