Do not rank Cuomo. He was bad for renters, public education, public transportation. He hates NYC.

Trump's actions are dangerous. But Harvard is not the most democratic institution either, elitist, exclusive, tax exempt.

"One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we've been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back."

Carl Sagan,

The Demon-Haunted World

When Trump tried to bully Governor Mills over [trans athletes in sports] at a White House meeting in February, she told him, β€œSee you in court.” Today she commented: β€œIt’s good to feel a victory like this. I stood in the White House and when confronted by the president of the United States, I told him I’d see him in court. Well, we did see him in court, and we won.”

I work in public higher ed. Harvard and other corporate heavily endowed universities should not be tax exempt. Columbia is one of the largest landowners in NYC. Let the taxes support accessible public higher ed.

I think Harvard and all private institutions of higher education with vast endowments and many wealthy donors should pay taxes.
