I think I’ve run out of the hot days I need to work on surfboards, so I’m closing up the #PNervesSurfboards shack. I did get a board glassed- no hot coat. It’s not the board I envisioned, but I’m pretty happy. I did miss a step on the fin system. Oops.

I was planning on doing a thread of my movie poster collection, but just couldn’t make it work.I was going to start with these two posters- which have hung in every place I’ve lived since I got them in the mid- 80s. Thank you Mr. Struzan.

One of my greatest experiences was seeing this on the big screen with a Q&A with Roddy Piper and Meg Foster after. It got weird but so much fun! I got to shake Roddy’s hand. It was just before he died.

Working a 16 hour day is not unusual in my job, so I’ve decided to call this a right of passage.

And then never do it again.

My job allows us to give up half our shifts a month, but you can trade as many as you like. I needed some days off for a vacation, and ended up trading two days for two shifts- on the same day. I usually work 5 hours a day, but on the 21st I’ll be working two 8 hour shifts. Oops…

Driving home from dinner, and I saw a cool camper van. My wife and daughter said I was nerding out, and then tried to cover by saying- it’s cool, everyone nerds out. Yeah, but I was the only true nerd in the car… they hemmed and hawed, but then Revenge of the Nerds by Rubinoos came on.

I win.

Just this weekend I pointed out the former location of my favorite video place in Boulder- The Video Station. I do that stuff a lot, to eye rolls from my kids. I tried to get a job so many times in and after college, but ended up at CU for 30 years. I still wished I’d gotten hired.
