Writing is a hobby. I wrote The Pride’s Claw as something to be enjoyed, not as a means to an end.

One of those captcha things. This one says ‘select all images with bicycles. Click verify once there are none left’. There are 9 squares - 4 contain photos of bicycle seats, with the remaining 5 showing the beautiful head and face of a grey greyhound with a white stripe going from the top of their head to the tip of their nose.

Having studied stable diffusion and similar tools for quite some time now, I can honestly say I have never seen a useful solution to this problem. It really looks like we're doomed to an arms race of content protection measures vs AI evolution.

First seen in writing around 400 AD, this seemingly nonsensical colloquialism refers to a method by which a horse’s age could be determined.
At the time, doing so would have been incredibly insulting, as animals were quite valuable.

I made a conscious choice not to engage with writers and writing experts as I wrote that book.
I just wrote it.
It wasn't for them. It wasn't even for the audience I expected might want it.
I didn't think I was smarter than everyone else.
I only set out to remake what I loved once.
