Yeah the substrate is a little fucked since I got it all set up and then realized the sand I used was beach sand! I did my best to remove as much as I could and sealed it with pool filter sand, but I do think it's affect the vallisneria in the back since it's so alkaline.

Coming up on the 1 year anniversary of my first aquascape and I think I want to redo it. Mainly I want different hardscape that fits, and I think I want to blacken the back pane too.

I have a 20 long for my colony. Started out with a dozen, there's easily been several hundred at this point as I've sold about 400 over the last 6 months. I'm planning on adding 10 new ones to add some fresh DNA here soon.

So I'm thinking to help with platy fry control in the main tank that I should add a bigger fish. Gourami or anglefish? What do you guys think? I originally wanted angels for this tank but I also really loved the gourami I had as a child.

Okay fish folks, I got a question. I've noticed some of the platy babies have some spinal deformities as they are growing. Given that they are crazy reproducers, I believe it is ethical to cull them. What's the most humane way I can do so?
