One of the more incredible stories out of LA this year has been how a taco review blog became the best on-the-ground coverage of ICE raids in the city.

They do a dispatch every day, follow-up on the kidnapped people (which almost no media outlet has done), and fact-check government claims.

Earlier this year, Dr. Jane Goodall sat down for an interview for Brad Falchuk’s new Netflix series, Famous Last Words.

The premise of the series is to interview people on the condition that the interview not air until the subject has passed away.

also just feels important to point out that after a whole wave of trans users were suspended for pointing out JK Rowling’s transphobia, now apparently we are suspending Jewish users for pointing out Christian Zionists’ antisemitism

Hello, I have been suspended for a post accusing me of threatening violence. If you look at the thread the post is part of, 1 am describing the evangelical belief system about the rapture, which includes the mass murder of Jews. I, a Jew, was not making threats against Jews. I, a Jew, was educating about the dangers that the evangelical community poses to Jews in order to *protect us* This is obviously and clearly not a threat or an excuse for suspension. Please reinstate my account.

Here is how I appealed the suspension. It took them about an hour to respond. All in all I was down for about 4 hours.

eventually politicians need to start advocating for criminal and civil penalties for people involved in fabricating stories to get citizens incarcerated.

I see people fighting back and organizing every fucking day. ICE hasn't met their recruitment goals. They haven't met their kidnapping goals. That's WHY they keep escalating.

Look I get that it's not sexy that the Florida facility was closed via an environmental lawsuit but Al Capone got taken down by tax evasion. Not everything is sexy!

I'm genuinely starting to think that the people who say they want to see American's really fight back are really saying they want a specific kind of visible, stereotypical depiction of protest, and have zero zero tolerance for the kind of groundwork it takes to make change happen.
