Yeah the kelvinverse comics went out of their way to use Sec31 as an indictment of humanity's resistance to idealism. Also, that woman next to him in the turbolift? It's Mudd.

Now that we've got our core idea written down and are shopping around for game mechanics, I'm finding a lot of folks with similar ideas. Even whole games like Lasers & Liches that i didn't even know existed before today.

Yeah the concept is, specific. I think the biggest difference is Shadowrun is set on earth that receives an advent of magic, has a limited number of fantasy species and monsters. The new thing retains all of d&d and is set in a magical world that goes through a technomancer-industrial revolution...

Oh no very much dnd, just with the calendar rolled very very far forward.

So far the game world history is post ww2 / cold war parallel. Magic nukes ended the last war. The world is fully explored and overpopulated. Now international and corporate espionage is the only adventure left.

...but looks like somebody has the same idea and wrote the Technomancer's Textbook. So now this is likely going to be a setting inside that homebrew expansion.

Working it up with my weekly game group. We're settling into a digital age where all tech is magic. The industrial revolution was led by artificers and computers are run on enchanted circuitry, not electricity. Thought i was facing a long uphill battle of converting dnd 5e...

Much more futuristic. If eberron is post ww1 parallel, this new thing is more like cyberpunk 2077
