Personally, I think the 1997-2010 Labour Government served the country pretty darn well (with the notable exception of a disastrous foreign policy which destabilised the Middle East).

Labour can serve the country and also remain a broad church where dissent is tolerated.

And this goes back to my point. If you were to take Tony Benn post-Wilson Cabinet and planted him now, most of those on the left would be damning of the guy based on his politics up to that point.

It depends on how you define 'left' but I would say on PIP, Gaza and trans rights, she's taken a distinctly 'left' position which aligns with the historical positions of the left-wing of the Parliamentary Labour Party. She didn't need to and could have just been 'lobby fodder' for the leadership.

Again, that's a legitimate point. I think it's right to call out errors in strategy and I don't think Creasy is an effective communicator but she's not the same pol she was pre-2020. I get that she's not atoned but bucking this current leadership on trans rights, Palestine + welfare is welcome.

That was always my original point and for that I've had a pretty crappy and crummy evening from people I probably have a great deal in common with.

But my point is someone can move left, even if you're not a fan of their previous actions or behaviours. I get the hostility towards Stella given previous actions but her actions in this Parliament look quite different.

That's a legit point you make. I think absolute loyalty to a leadership is crass. I wish more MPs gave Jeremy the space to prove himself but they didn't. I also think it's ridiculous Jeremy ever lost the Labour whip and the right to remain a Labour MP.

I am genuinely concerned because I don't think calling a rando on the internet a d*ckhead is the behaviour of someone who is OK. And you did so suddenly. I just don't get why someone would resort to that sort of language simply because they differed with someone else's opinion.
