Happy to share a new pre-print from the lab. Here we use human stem cell models to explore how microglia modulate retinal ganglion cells in developmental and neuroinflammation, both directly and in concert with astrocytes. Amazing work from PhD student Jade Harkin!

Check out the latest research from the lab of #IUStemCell member Scott Canfield! In this study, they demonstrate that excessive alcohol levels impair the integrity of the blood-brain barrier in human stem cell-derived models, contributing to the onset or worsening of neurological disorders.
