I guess life has a way of sending little reminders when you least expect them. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Academic publishing can really test your patience.
We submitted a paper to a Q1 journal five months ago. After a long silence, we followed up. The handling editor said a decision would be made by the end of May. So, we waited, again!!

Guess what? The third review was actually already in, but now they’re asking us to wait another month to receive it.

No transparency. No consistency. Just an endless cycle of waiting and vague promises.
This is not how academic publishing should work.

When we pointed this out, the editor replied, “Let me confirm with the editorial board.” Eventually, they come back and say, “A decision will be made shortly.” At this point, we were bracing for a rejection after such poor handling.

Early June rolls around. Still no decision. We follow up again, this time we’re told they’re waiting on a third reviewer. Strange, because earlier they said they were waiting for two reviews to come in by the end of May.

It was my first time attending @asn-org.bsky.social . The quality and creativity of the scholarship, especially from emerging voices in the field, was really promising! 🙌

Using the example of Bosnia and Herzegovina's legal reforms for queer rights, this work introduces TCP, which emphasizes the urgent need to protect and enforce these hard-won rights, thereby preventing their erosion.

The proposed theory uses the metaphor of a well-tuned guitar in which each string represents a critical step in peacebuilding, ultimately leading to the concept of “treasure-chest peace” (TCP).

Through the interviews of 43 queer Bosnian and Herzegovinians, I explored the absence of social justice and how it contributes to phenomena like the “gay drain and hinders the possibility of truly inclusive reconciliation for all.
