They will call things they see with their own eyes fake news. This is not hyperbole. I’ve seen it happen, called it out, and had to deal with the all out eruption it led to.
How can any trustworthy new source compete? Nothing will change until a critical mass of their own start complaining.

Not the same but I was working with a straight laced guy who had a picture of goatse on his wall made to look like clouds in the sky. I made a comment about the boldness of his irreverent humor but he said it looked like hands opening the clouds up to heaven. It was gone the next time I saw him.

In years past if someone told me people could be fooled to put this poster up unironically I would’ve thought they were being overly petty. Now I’m not so sure.
