Yes. My favs are Frankenstein, Age of Innocence, Persuasion, and Notes from Underground. So many incredible lines that are poignant to this day.

I do biomedical research to help people. When people come in this space making things up, it makes it harder for people not in the field to trust the extensive studies that we do and distinguish fact from fiction. Baseless claims reduce future cures. Willful ignorance drives us backwards.

A climatologist
told me it’s not normal
for it to be this hot
right now

An epidemiologist
told me it’s not normal
for so many to be sick
right now

A historian
told me it’s not normal
for the government to be shutdown
right now

It’s not normal,
my friends,
it’s not normal.

Violet Affleck is to the Covid movement what Greta Thunberg is to climate. Both represent the next generation, are articulate, focused, & grounded in science. That scares people. And there's a gendered aspect to all the vitriol they face

I pay my taxes and I don’t get healthcare.

I pay my taxes and schools are four days a week.

I pay my taxes and my road is gravel.

I pay my taxes and they close my hospital.

I pay my taxes and then pay for college tuition.

I pay my taxes and don’t have access to a library.

Red state blues.

Oooof an acquaintance just described her kid having COVID, then β€œthree more episodes of fevers but nothing else. Probably just bugs”.

No, lady, that’s COVID rebound and if it is still happening after a month that is very likely long COVID.

I hate what we’re doing to children.

Why didn’t some of the Epstein survivors speak out earlier? β€œI thought someone was going to kill me,” one explained.

As another asked, β€œWhy did the government work so hard to protect Jeffrey Epstein and not victims like me?”

"Go to an old cemetery. See all the baby graves from before the 1950s & 60s? After that, hardly any. That's when people started vaccinating their children. If you're unsure what to do to protect your kids, the answer is literally written in stone." β€” Michael Okuda

How quick we forget.

"Everyone Drank Raw Milk!" No They Didn't
YouTube video by Farm to Taber "Everyone Drank Raw Milk!" No They Didn't

When people say "We used to drink raw milk from our own cow and it was fine,"

That's... usually not the case!

In families w their own cow, the mom usually boiled it before using.

We just forgot bc that's a boring chore that mom did. And who pays attention to that?

This 🧡 is long so please bear with me. It is compiles evidence in a historical timeline on how effective #COVIDVaccines are. When a pandemic ends we quickly and easily forget the tools that got us out of it. So here is my labour day gift to you prompted by this headline.

This should be the lead story in all major national news outlets. Public health people prefer to stay out of the limelight unless there is no other choice. I can’t overstate how bad things have to be for 9 former CDC directors to band together and pen an op-ed in the NYT warning the entire country.

RFK Jr. likes to wax nostalgic about how β€œhealthy” America was in the 1960’s. He bases this on one datapoint, the prevalence of obesity.

But let’s dip our toes into reality. In 1965:

-42% of American adults smoked; it’s 11% now.

-The infant morality rate was 24.7/1000; it’s 5.6/1000 now

But that is the purpose of the humanities, to see through to the truth and critically think when looking at the current climate/culture.

Remember: if anyone says, 'we need to live with Covid' but doesn't also talk about vaccines, therapeutics, and mitigations, they're not actually saying we need to live with it, they're saying, 'I want to ignore it'.

mRNA vaccines are one of the most important tools we have for preventing future catastrophic pandemics because we can update them more quickly than any other vaccine technology in response to new emerging viruses & variants.

RFK Jr cancelling millions in mRNA research makes the world far less safe.

When a man says
"not all men" what he really means is...
"I'm a good guy and it bothers me that you're not singling me out when you talk about men's violence MORE THAN it bothers me that you're experiencing said violence". And the thing is- this is exactly why he is not a good guy and exactly why his "not all men" cry is invalid. -Farida D.

A study found
β€œHamsters with long Covid
present distinct
transcriptomic profiles
associated with
neurodegenerative
processes in brainstem,”
but if you tell people this
they will laugh
for they are not hamsters,
it’s just a coincidence
that their mind
is always foggy these days.

Just to reiterate, the FDA director claimed to *personally* know of *multiple* people who died from mRNA COVID vaccines, and nobody has asked him anything else about that. These cases have never been reported in neither the medical and scientific records, nor literal death records.

I saw a headline which noted:
β€œFeeling Hoarse?
You Might Have
the New β€˜Stratus’ Covid Variant,”
and I will admit that as of late
I have been feeling hoarse
not from the virus
but because I keep shouting
that the pandemic isn’t over.

the reason they’re so mad about normalizing a genetic condition which cannot be prevented or reversed is because they are eugenicists

Opinion pages have done so much damage to public health by platforming contrarians, minimizers, and anti-vaxxers. Have editors learned nothing from the damage they did when they made climate change a false debate?

PSA: There’s a difference between wearing a mask or respirator & wearing a gaiter or face covering to disguise identity. It’s important to discern & communicate this nuance because if you don’t, you might encourage elected officials to ban masks for everyone, which would be a public health disaster.

Every week someone tells me they had to put Covid aside to focus on bigger issues like fascism. The thing is, eugenics and fascism go hand in hand.

Historically pandemics have ignited fascism & normalized eugenics & indifference

Getting in to see a pediatric specialist often takes months.

Many pediatric hospitals are already past capacity many days.

The big ugly AF bill is going to make these problems much worse.

Anyone with kids, regardless of your insurance, will be affected.
