Tananarive Due's author bio on the back of The Good House, which mentions her husband, novelist Steven Barnes
Excerpt from The Good House by Tananarive Due. Pov character Corey has to write a book report, and not on an author he would read for fun, such as "Stephen King or Steven Barnes or Tom Clancy".
When reading the author bio rewards you with a cute little Easter egg π

Now in week 8 of postnatal life, I've figured out how to fit reading around baby (for now), and I'm on my third book of the year! The Book Of I by David Greig is beautifully written, funny and sad, and may end up being one of my favourite books in 2026.

I took this photo on the Teign Estuary in Devon in spring 2022. I thought I was just taking a photo of an attractive hole in an old tree. It was only when I got home and looked through my camera roll that I saw the leaping dog, who I'd caught perfectly framed, mid-leap, totally by chance. I remembered the dog immediately, because of what an annoying twat it had been.

It's not just "consumer smart" it reduces environmental waste, key materials are often mined in slave conditions. The whole tenor of the article is wrong - why is the economy so dependent on us engaging in mass waste?

In a promotion designed for BookTok enjoyment, Jennifer L. Armentroutβs just-published THE PRIMAL OF BLOOD AND BONE is available in a special, limited-edition "garlic-scented copy, infused with Hellmannβs Garlic Aioli to create a one-of-a-kind, Craven-proof book." They explain: "This exclusive edition is printed with garlic-infused ink, designed to ward off Armentroutβs bloodthirsty monsters, the Craven. While humans may dread garlic breath, Hellmannβs has cleverly transformed this social faux pas into an unexpected β and delicious β form of supernatural protection."
