I feel bad that I haven't been writing for a bit. I've been having the problem of so many coding projects, that all the actually creative stuff gets lost. I'm hoping that I can intentionally mitigate some of that stuff around the holidays.

For add-on devs who don't know, you can load .blend file data in a temporary container, Blender automatically cleans it up afterwards. Super useful for processing external files or images without saving them. In this case, it couldn't handle relative filepaths, despite working with non-temp data.

Another Blender bug reported, another already fixed (and hopefully backported soon! Thanks @chengdulittlea.bsky.social and Campbell! #b3d

Testing Light Painter for the Blender 5.0 update. Only had one bug: new sky textures changed, including removal of Nishita sky texture (at least the name).

But it got me to appreciate new sky textures. Stunning. #b3d

This is for Blender add-on devs: the Action API that was deprecated in Blender 4.4 has been removed in 5.0.

Using action.fcurves / .groups / .id_root will NOT work in 5.0!
