Sure! Idk if it’s still the same as when I was in undergrad (2015-2018), but I remember there being lots of shrugs if anyone asked about career paths besides forecasting and broadcast. I had to go to grad school to crack into NWP.

I’ve job hunted 3 times since I got my bachelors - in 2019, 2023, and 2024. My LinkedIn is on my resumè.

Each time, I paid for LI premium (I’m nosy) and I could generally tell who looked at my job applications because they’d visit my LI profile. I’m also occasionally headhunted in my DMs.

Waiting for today’s inevitable follow-up email dropping “Climate” from my job title as well 🙃

Finally got around to changing my name after getting married 🥳

It’s a whole big story, but my maiden name, DeCiampa, was made up by my Neapolitan great grandpa when he came to the US. My husband and I both chose to take my GGF’s original last name of DeCham (“dee-SHAHM”).

Being fired was a net gain tbh and I’m stoked to start my new job on Monday 🥳 my supervisor already put a bunch of informal introduction meetings on my calendar, which is a far cry from how isolated I felt at my last place.

My old employer explicitly told me that every other employee was able to handle more work than I could, but then why are they hiring two positions in my place? 🤔

Between that and the incredibly warm welcome I’ve gotten from my new employer, I feel so validated in my professional worth & experience
