Ireland was a little mean at launch, I know Curry’s had bundles with discounts in the UK, that didn’t happen here. You got full price and that was it. It is the reason I sent the screenshot over as it was the first time they went on discount here, and Smyths (Irish) is really the only game shop left

$50 USD more on a Console and $20 more on a video game means customers have $70 less. Customers aren't going to give $70 more, so somethings gotta give. In this case, the third party ports.

Switch 1? Switch 1 launched with like 5 games.

In the months to the lead up of Switch 2 there was this bull behaviour that because games are so expensive to make, Publishers were feeling they could port their expensively produced last gen games to Switch 2 where they would lead a second life.

I do think a lot of people in the games industry have to take responsibility for this including games media. There was this out of nowhere bullish expectation up to launch that last gen titles would have a second life all of a sudden on Switch 2.
