Basically, I'll try almost anything.

I won't eat raw oysters because I'm immunocompromised. I'm also not a big fan of beets, lima beans, or black licorice but I'll eat them depending on my mood. One of the few things I genuinely hate is melon.

We must and should imagine and dream of futures where disabled people don't just exist but are everywhere, as we should be.

That's why people use so much dehumanizing language in these "debates." If you can think of people as "less than" you, it's a lot easier to boil things down to an "issue." When you're confronted with someone's essential humanity, you have to reckon with the fact that they're a person like you.

Once you realize that everybody is just folks like you just trying to live their lives, it's all over. You can't think of things as just "issues" anymore. They're reality for your neighbors. It changes the whole view. Or at least it did for me.

This is what really gets me. It's easy to make discussions of transgender people, immigrants, racism, or some other issue du jour into an abstract discussion rather than remembering that there are actual human beings behind every one of those "issues."

I actually agree that there is going to be a skill gap between people who regularly use AI vs those who refuse to use it, and it's that after the bubble pops the refusers will be fine while the AI-dependent will be missing or have let atrophy basic skills
