Same as it ever was.

Very relatable; I have a few hoodies my partner got from working with FB years ago. One recent time when I was especially disgusted and enraged with techbros, I made tiny quilt blocks and appliqued them over the logos on those hoodies. Not world-changing, of course, but it did soothe me a little.

Same in Canada! Ottawa saw a large influx of Somali immigrants and refugees when I was in high school and the vitriol people repeated about them was wild. "They're welfare cheats! They stuff their families of 20 in a one bedroom apartment! They smell! They're dirty and bring roaches in!" Shameful.

To be fair, truly Maximum Sock would be to put them in the kid's stocking, but these are special socks and they're already getting a cheaper pair in the stocking. Plus my partner firmly believes stocking stuffers should never be wrapped.

The socks are wrapped in sock-printed paper, with a gift label that also features a sock/stocking. Maximum sock. My kid's name is obscured, but I signed the label with a poorly-drawn footprint.

Denialism alone was only officially criminalized recently; it is now included in the Criminal Code under "willful promotion of antisemitism". I don't know the details of what this guy said and did, but it may be that it was primarily denialism, rather than other forms of hate speech.

A 1977 Better Homes and Gardens Patchwork and Quilting book, subtitled "exciting quick and easy projects, quilting, patchwork, applique basics... Heirloom and contemporary designs". On the cover is a quilt made up of overlapping daisy shapes in lots of bright shades of red, blue, orange, yellow, and green.

Something about the aesthetic of the mid/late 1970s (basically when I was a baby) is just delicious to me. Got this at a used book store yesterday for the cover project alone, though I'd do it in different colours. But the whole book is full of gems. #sewing #quilting #vintage

There are already a bunch of dickheads posting stills from it on here without a warning. I didn't like him any more than anyone else on this app, but FFS have some compassion for people who are sensitive to violent images due to personal trauma or whatever.
