Stansted Airport expansion plans should be delayed, council says Stansted Airport wants to submit plans to further increase capacity to 51 million passengers.

Herts County Council has challenged the expansion of Stansted Airport, saying the project "must be fully compatible with the country's carbon and climate change commitments."

(The expansion was rejected by the local council in 2020, then forced through by central government in 2023.)
