Excited to see this 1984 book arrive in the post. I’m not only fascinated by #oilandgas, I’m very intrigued by the history and culture of #Houston as an #oil city. And the text features pictures of drilling rigs between sections!

The comparison between Big #Oil and Big Tobacco is a very poor one. A better one would be between the oil and #arms industries. The former provides an unquestionable good in access to #energy and the latter the ability to defend, even if both come with big negative externalities.
