The fact that the OOB families arenโ€™t just purged completely is wack. Youโ€™d think thatโ€™d be at least automated internally for each release.

Gotta give you bonus points for that accurate IES used on the wall area light in the first image ๐Ÿ”Ž It looks like a NEMA type 2 distribution.

You can even export natively (!!) from #Revit including materials (!!!!) by importing a DWFX file. Which Max only exports.

Anyone ever use #Autodesk VRED for things besides automotive visualization?

Seems like its renderer has lots of features that make it viable for #ArchViz when compared to Max or even Enscape.

This is a known issue thatโ€™s been brought up on various forums. No idea on a fix though.

Is it just me or does the cloud cover not affect the light amount?

Bonus points if they say to use the python dynamo library.

Revit Design Options for Electrical

If only they were able to release a version that could be locally run.

Thatโ€™s wild. I was under the impression that they had lost the source code long ago. Hopefully they were able to get the internal dev tools too.

I'm not sure that they have the source to even attempt a proper fix.

How likely is it that this โ€œpausingโ€ closes revit without saving or syncing?

Wish they had more technical patch notes.

After trying all the major media players that aren't the default Windows 11 media player. I've discovered that the default media player was the best one for everyday usage all along.

I have a feeling all the commands it lists still work in AutoCAD 2025

Nope. Didnโ€™t work. Guess itโ€™ll be a mystery till the end of time.

Itโ€™s kinda wild that thereโ€™s no way to modify how the โ€œLoad Nameโ€ for an electrical circuit gets populated in #Revit.

The built in sunโ€™s power is actually really dim by default for some reason. Take a look at the โ€œpower of lightsโ€ section in the manual.

The sun/window light source isnโ€™t really bouncing and filling the scene. Might wanna increase the power of it?

Fun fact, the Project Browser is just a CEF window. You could technically iframe(?) the whole thing in a separate tab.

Speciality Equipment is both Div 11 and Div 10 stuff from my knowledge. That covers almost everything. What would you consider the generic model category for? I donโ€™t recall a specific intention for it.

Iโ€™d wonder if modifying the 'joboptions' file to avoid embedding fonts would resolve the issue? Itโ€™s in the APDFL folder for the curious.

#Revit users: Have you figured out the font scaling issue for the PDF export yet? It seems that AD's "official" stance is to just use something like Bluebeam but I'd love to stick with the built in exporter.

20.12.2024 14:49 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Digging through the forums, it's a filmic tonemapper. Exporting as an EXR bypasses the tonemapper.

18.12.2024 19:49 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Makes sense. I remember watching a AU presentation where it was all wall geometry, and components with nested generic models. I think your approach makes much more sense though. Less amount of crazy nesting I presume.

Anyone know why #enscape has that unique look to it? Iโ€™d imagine itโ€™s whatever tonemapper but it almost feels like the lighting has a really strong bias towards sunlight.

Did you find it more useful to make families of the detailing or did you use more of the wall sweeps/reveals?

Are the profiles always symmetric about the z-axis / radially? A great thing about IES profiles is the asymmetrical ability.
