There is this old British Superhero RPG called “Golden Heroes” which had a good one.

But that’s been supplanted by any “roll under” D&D clone where only players roll - the one I used was The Black Hack. Roll under Dex to go before the baddies. Those that do roll to attack. Simultaneously. 1/2

Trust me I’ve been there. The only human “legacy” Character class (Cleric) in a party that I had NO IDEA what I was playing with, Most seemed to exist on mobile phones only. (I had a paper character sheet and was writing with a pencil.)

But the Referee seemed to know what was going on, bless her.

I like the new modern automated Taxi systems! My last game finished early but precooked taxi was changed in an instant. Straight to the station, awaiting my train home.

Breakfast. 2nd con running with a machine offering Mochacino - but THIS modern thing goes further. Strength of coffee? Temperature of drink? So many options.

I haven’t tended to put the name of the game on the sheets in my games. It seems OTT & a bit too thirsty for promotion.

But it costs nothing, has no down side & might be useful from time to time.

So as soon as I get home I’m adding it to all sheets on any WIP & will do it henceforth.

Do you put the name of the game on the character sheets?

I’m at a convention. I’ll be taking home about ten sheets. PC sheets, rules references etc. Organised Refs. Memories. Etc.

Except my memory isn’t that good. I won’t remember which game each sheet is from.

Polyamory just the easiest way to find a reliable D&D group

The first official reference to them as siblings was in a 2008 Sunday strip by Hy Eisman. Prior, it was said they were twins in a comic by Ocean Comics, but it was licensed and non canon. The British week comic TV Comics had Brutus as Bluto's cousin, but again non-canon.

Some of us old people prevailed on the Referee not to go on until midnight so we finished at 11pm.

Kult - same Referee as the afternoon games will pick but a different game. Still PbtA. And slightly more Kids on Bikes - well Kids playing computer games - than I suspect Kult was designed for. But the conflict between the two made for some great role-playing fun.

Slots lengths - two examples: 2 weeks ago - Contingency. 4 four hours slots per day - 12 hours a day - for 5 days.

Today - Revelation - Morning slot 3 hrs, Afternoon 3.5 hours, Evening 4.5 hr*. 11 hours a day. 2 days. More relaxed.

* I do hope it’s UP TO 4.5 hours.

Still I’m not refereeing so no worries.

(I wouldn’t worry if I was refereeing TBH.)

Same weekend as Concrete Cow and Bedford Tabeltop Expo so I won’t be able to go but it’s a good venue.

If they’re using the Conference Rooms be aware they’re fully equipped with whiteboards & flip charts. If you plan ahead for this it can really bring briefing scenes to life or shared note-taking.

Arrival time in Sheffield is now 9:31. Convention start 9:45. Looks like I’ll be creeping in sheepishly at the back of the gathering.

Still I know I’m on table 2 for my first game because of the clear advance organisation.

Tell me, though, is every character class playtested through to high levels in multiple campaigns in the “big” professionally produced games, do you think? All spells, every feat, every skill tested with every class?

How meticulous is too much?

…that meticulously tested different aspects of his game and was a bit disappointed that we didn’t get through every scene.

He’s accidentally created a scenario which had an enjoyable story and which we were having fun playing.

When I “playtest” a game I just create a fun scenario and play.
