31.08.2025 20:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Also - well done the 8 out of 27 (that's almost 30%) hangers of union flags that I saw on my journey who managed to get them the correct way around. (A statistic much improved by whoever was responsible for those adorning Chesterfield's lamp-posts getting them 100% right.)

She was found not guilty in a retrial 25 years later.
And there, in a nutshell, is the best argument against the death penalty you could ever have.
If I ever go into the loos in somewhere like an office building and go to use the final available cubicle, I find myself shouting "House" quietly inside my own head.

04.07.2025 20:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Can't say I don't have issues with the Catholic church, or with religion as generally for that matter.
But selecting an American Pope is grade A trolling of a US government which is very much deserving of it.
At the end one of them ran for safety whilst the other ran for their lives. I think this is probably AI.
22.04.2025 13:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I've had more than 24 hours to think about it and can't think of a single mildly humourous thing to say about the pope dying. There's a few jokes on the internet about dead popes, you can find themselves. I need a holiday.

19.03.2025 17:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's an early arrival - probably got an unusually strong tail wind on it's way up from the southern hemisphere (climate change?) It might need somewhere safe to rest and plug in its freezers before we'll hear its familiar song again.
18.03.2025 16:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So there is no "I believe the science but it's going to cost too much."
If you believe the science then you'd be acting fast, not continuing to delay. The politicians who don't act now are accountable for the deaths of millions in the future. It's the greatest genocide ever perpetuated.
Furthermore, it's almost 20 years since economist Nicholas Stern concluded that "the benefits of strong and early action far outweigh the economic costs of not acting."

"People's AI" is looking at how AI can empower people rather than simply using them to further corporate profit.
It's way beyond my technical capabilities but I wonder if a global people powered AI, with a not-for-profit motive, could gain enough traction to make profit-led approaches redundant.
