Legally, there isn't the slightest basis to the complaint, even on the most extreme possible interpretation of the Supreme Court judgement. A shop floor is not a single sex space, regardless of whether they sell bras or not. This is just hatred and spite, unleashed.

Is starvation in Gaza really Israel's fault? The facts are clear Rising starvation in Gaza may have a number of factors. But Israel's wartime policies on humanitarian aid are inarguably among them.

For @forward.com, I wrote about how we know that Israel has been withholding food as a military tactic because Israeli officials have said versions of β€œwe are withholding food as a military tactic” for the entirety of the war and pretending otherwise is willful ignorance forward.com/opinion/7586...

A group of not-especially-terrifying football ultras

It's hard to believe it's been a whole week.

Memories (and tattoos) to last a lifetime. Huge thanks to everyone at Altona who showed us so much love and made us welcome.

Matthew Goodwin, Reform and the politics of resentment The β€˜heterodox intellectual’ turned populist is a morbid symptom of the digital age

Its worth noting that in Britain, Mamdani would have thrown out of the Labour Party by a small room full LinkIn weirdos and then replaced by a former private healthcare lobbyist who would go on to lose by 5,000 votes to a Reform candidate who was a convinced sex offender.

Sad to report that China Labor Bulletin is no more. Ostensibly due to "financial problems", six members have been detained. CLB had promoted workers' rights and news in China since 1994.

Our recent podcast would have been impossible without their work: patreon.com/posts/e106-r...

Targeting urban residences - destroying dozens of homes to kill one enemy - is always morally abhorrent, whether by the Iranian state and its allies in Aleppo, by the Israeli state in Gaza or Tehran, or by the Russian state in Kharkiv.

I shed no tears for IRGC criminals like Hossein Salami, but direct war on Iran is an insane escalation (that will make Israel’s people less safe). There is no logic of self-defence left, just the logic of power (Netanyahu’s unpopular government’s survival) and war’s own dehumanising internal logic.

We’ve also had Ukraine banners (during our trade union days year or so back). It’s just flatly not true that we only talk about Palestine to the exclusion of all other issues of national oppression.

I almost want to laugh at what a cack-handed mess Starmer and the Labour right, those self-described sensible interpreters of the public mood, have made for themselves.
But it’s not funny, because it’s going to come at the expense of the whole labour movement, and millions of people who need better

'We'll never out-Farage Farage on migration – and it'd be wrong to try' - LabourList Just because some of our voters switched to Reform, it does not mean that their sole motivation is immigration, argues Nadia Whittome MP.

Going tough on immigration isn’t working. Instead, we must offer real solutions to falling living standards and growing inequality.

Some takeaways from the election losses, in the sincere hope that this will be a period of genuine reflection for our party:

You’re telling me that right wing voters that Labour was trying to appeal to voted for a right wing party anyway and left wing voters decided not to vote for Labour because they’re too right wing now? Who could have possibly predicted this.

Ivania's deportation tomorrow has been temporarily deferred, but Karla is still due to be deported on Friday.
